Position Summary:

Hef’s Hut is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is responsible for daily prep production, executing service tickets accurately, maintaining food quality standards, and keeping a clean and organized workstation.

We are a fast-paced kitchen focused on consistency, efficiency, and teamwork.

Prep Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients according to recipe specs (cutting, slicing, portioning, marinating, batching sauces, etc.)
• Follow standardized recipes and gram-based measurements
• Label, date, and rotate products (FIFO)
• Maintain par levels for service
• Assist with daily and weekly prep lists
• Maintain prep logs and communicate low inventory

Line Responsibilities:

• Execute menu items consistently during service
• Follow plating standards and portion control
• Maintain ticket times and communicate with expo
• Set up and break down station properly
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards

Kitchen Standards:

• Keep station clean and organized at all times
• Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning procedures
• Maintain proper food storage temperatures
• Report equipment issues immediately
• Minimize waste and follow cost-control practices

Qualifications:

• 1+ year kitchen experience preferred (but willing to train the right person)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong knife skills
• Understanding of basic cooking techniques
• Reliable transportation
• Weekend availability required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Lift 50 lbs
• Work in hot, fast-paced conditions
